A Slido alternative for conferences that pays sponsors back

Slido is the tool most conference producers reach for, and for live Q&A and polls it deserves to be. A Slido alternative for conferences makes sense when the organiser also has to give sponsors something measurable: a quiz and a lead list per booth, and session quizzes run from the stage, in one workspace.

What Slido does well

Slido is built for the auditorium. Audience Q&A with upvoting, word clouds, live polls, ratings and a quiz mode, all anonymous by default so a shy delegate still asks the question. It plugs into PowerPoint, Google Slides, Teams and Webex, and a speaker can run it from the presentation itself. Its per-event pricing is fair, and as of September 2026 the paid event plans run from roughly $60 to about $500 per event, with a free tier for small rooms.

If your need is Q&A and polls in a session, Slido is the right tool and this page will not tell you otherwise.

Where a Slido alternative for conferences earns its place

  • Sponsors want leads, not word clouds. A sponsor paid for a booth and wants names. Slido players are anonymous by design. On QDevine each sponsor booth gets its own QR quiz, its own board on the booth TV, and its own lead list with the consent each player ticked. The sponsor downloads the CSV at the end of the day.
  • A workspace per sponsor, one model for the show. Each sponsor gets its own workspace: they write their questions, see only their leads, and are the data fiduciary for them, so the organiser is not in the middle. The organiser keeps the numbers for the post-show deck: plays per booth, opt-in rate, leads per sponsor. The Organiser package covers every stand, branded to the show, from ₹2,50,000.
  • Session quizzes from the stage. Stage mode runs a hosted quiz from the speaker's phone: Start, question, Reveal, Standings, Next. The hall screen shows the live answer split while the question is open, then the answer and the board. Phones check in every two seconds, and a hall of several hundred is the normal case.
  • Booth walk-ups all day without a host. A session has a start time; a booth does not. The self-paced mode accepts whoever scans at 9:30 or 17:45, ranks them on the same board, and needs nobody from the sponsor's team to run it.
  • Consent for the delegate list. Two separate consent lines, a generated privacy notice in English or Hindi, and a ledger with the wording, version, time and hashed IP for every lead. Erasure per lead or per email across the show's events.
  • Rupees, UPI and a GST invoice. Slido bills in dollars. Here an Event Pass is ₹9,999 plus GST, paid by UPI or card, with the invoice emailed. Export buyers pay $149.

Running both at the same conference

Many producers do. Slido for the keynote Q&A and polls; QDevine for the sponsor booths and for the one session quiz where the speaker wants a leaderboard and the sponsor of that session wants the names. The delegate scans a different QR at each and neither tool needs an app. The two exports live in different places, which is usually what the sponsor contract wants anyway.

Setting up a show

The organiser's own workspace holds the session quizzes; each sponsor gets a workspace of its own. In it, the sponsor creates an event named after the booth, pastes their questions or lets the AI builder write them from their brochure PDF in English and Hindi, and applies the show's or their own branding. Print a QR per booth. For each hosted session, create a Stage mode event in the organiser workspace and hand the speaker the link to the stage controls on their phone. Rehearse everything on the Free plan with up to 30 players per event; each go-live spends one pass, and passes are ₹5,999 each from ten, valid for 12 months.

Questions conference producers ask

Can a sponsor see only their own leads?

Yes. Each sponsor runs its booth quiz in its own workspace, so its marketer sees that event, its board and its CSV and nothing of any other sponsor. The organiser gets the plays, opt-in rate and lead count per booth for the deck, not the names.

Can delegates play a session quiz anonymously?

Yes. Set the session event to "Just a name" and players enter a display name only; nothing personal is stored. Use a lead-capture event for the sponsor booths.

Does Stage mode work from PowerPoint?

No. The host runs it from a phone and the hall screen shows the board link in a browser, so it works with any projector and needs no plug-in. Switch the projector input or use a second screen.

How are 20 booths priced?

Twenty passes at ₹5,999 each, or the Organiser package from ₹2,50,000 with every stand branded to the show and sponsor upsell built in. Both are one-time purchases with a GST invoice.
