A Kahoot alternative for events where you need names
Kahoot! is a very good classroom and team-meeting quiz. If you are searching for a Kahoot alternative for events, it is usually because a booth needs something a classroom does not: the player's real name and consent, no host, and a price per show rather than per host per year.

What Kahoot! does well
Kahoot! has spent a decade making a hosted quiz feel like a game show. The music, the countdown, the colour-and-shape answer buttons and the podium animation are polished, and millions of teachers and trainers know how to run one. If you have a room, a host, a projector and forty minutes, it is hard to beat for energy. Its question library is enormous and its business tier adds team play, reports and single sign-on.
None of that is a criticism. It is simply built around a host pressing Next in front of a room, with players who join under a nickname and leave when the session ends.
Where a booth needs a Kahoot alternative for events
- Nicknames versus leads. A Kahoot! player is "TigerKing99". On Monday your sales team needs Priya Sharma at Quorvex Analytics, her work email, and the consent she ticked. QDevine puts registration in front of the quiz and writes every tick to a consent ledger.
- Nobody to host. A stall runs for six to eight hours a day. In Kahoot! the game stops when the host walks away. Here the default mode is self-paced: a visitor scans, plays 90 seconds on their own, and the board on the TV updates on its own. Stage mode exists for when you do have a host and a seminar slot.
- Walk-ups all day. A hosted game has a start time. A booth quiz has to accept the person who arrives at 9:30 and the one who arrives at 17:45, each competing on the same board. Ties break on speed so there is always one winner for the prize.
- No app, no account. Players open a link from the QR in their phone browser. Nothing to install, and it works on hall 4G because every answer is a tiny request.
- Per event, in rupees. Kahoot!'s business plans are sold per host, per year, in dollars, as of September 2026. An exhibitor doing two shows a year pays for twelve months of a seat used on six days. An Event Pass is ₹9,999 plus GST for one event, 30 days from go-live, paid by UPI or card with a GST invoice.
- Hindi player screens and a lucky draw. The buttons, chrome and consent lines exist in Hindi, the AI builder writes questions in both languages, and the lucky draw picks a prize winner on the board.

When to stay with Kahoot!
If your use is a weekly team quiz, a classroom, or a hosted session where you do not need to know who played, Kahoot! is the more mature product and its free tier may be all you need. Switch when the point of the quiz is the list of people who played it: an exhibition stall, a dealer meet where scores go against a roster, a conference sponsor who wants leads, or a campaign where a QR on a pack has to leave you contacts.
Moving a Kahoot! quiz across
Export or copy your questions, paste them in the "Q1. / A. / Correct Answer: B" format, CSV or JSON, and edit in the form. Set the timer and the answer-reveal time, choose whether to show the explanation, and decide how many questions each attempt draws from the pool. Or drop in a brochure PDF and let the AI builder write a fresh set in English and Hindi. The Free plan runs the whole product with up to 30 players per event, so you can rehearse with your team before buying a pass.
Questions people ask when comparing
Can players still use a nickname if we want?
Yes. A "Just a name" event asks for a display name only and stores nothing personal. Use it for town halls and training rooms; use a lead-capture event at a stall.
Does it have the music and the countdown?
There is a per-question timer, a progress bar, an answer reveal with a short explanation and a live rank on the phone. It is deliberately quieter than Kahoot! because a stall is noisy enough and the phone may be on silent.
Is there a host-paced mode like a Kahoot! live game?
Yes, Stage mode. You press Start, Reveal, Standings and Next on your phone; the TV shows the question, the live answer split, the answer and the standings. It is built for dealer meets and conference sessions.
Do I pay per host or per player?
Neither. One Event Pass covers one event with unlimited players for 30 days from go-live. Add team members to the workspace at no extra cost.
